Job Summary:
As a Service Manager for Crane & Rigging Corporation, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the service department's operations, ensuring the efficient and effective maintenance and repair of our equipment.
You will lead a team of skilled technicians and service personnel, and your role is critical in ensuring the safety, functionality, and reliability of our fleet.
This position requires a strong blend of technical knowledge, leadership skills, and customer service acumen.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* *Team Leadership:* Supervise, mentor, and lead a team of service technicians and support staff.
Schedule training and provide guidance to enhance their skills and ensure high-quality service delivery.
* *Customer Service:* Interact with lease fleet customers, understand their service needs, and ensure that service requests are met in a timely and satisfactory manner.
Address customer inquiries and concerns.
* *Maintenance and Repairs: *Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance program for the truck and crane fleet.
Schedule and oversee routine maintenance, inspections and repairs to ensure all pieces are safe and roadworthy.
* *Inventory Management:* Maintain an inventory of spare parts and materials necessary for equipment repairs.
Monitor and order parts as needed to minimize downtime.
* *Record Keeping:* Monitor and maintain an accurate list of all equipment and records of maintenance and repair.
* *Budget Management:* Manage cost control and resource allocation.
* *Safety Compliance:* Ensure that all service activities adhere to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Regulations and guidelines, promoting a culture of safety within the department.
* *Quality Assurance:* Implement quality control procedures to maintain the highest standard of service and ensure that all repairs meet or exceed expectations.
* *Reporting:* Prepare and submit regular reports on service department performance.
* *Continuous Improvement:* Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance the service department's efficiency and effectiveness.
* *Technical Expertise:* Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in service and maintenance techniques.
*Requirements:*
* Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, or Equivalent Work Experience.
* Previous experience in a similar role in the crane industry is highly desirable.
* Strong technical knowledge of crane equipment and maintenance procedures preferred.
* Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
* Knowledge of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Safety Regulations and best practices.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Proficiency with relevant software tools and systems.
* Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to job sites and customer locations as needed.
