Position Summary: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is accountable to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to oversee the financial operations of the company and make decisions based on the Company’s financial stability.
This position monitors cash flow and meets regularly with the CEO to discuss the best practices for the Company’s finances with focus on the strategic plan necessary to improve the Company’s overall financial health.
Perform this position with the exceptional and ethical delivery of operational, financial, and administrative obligations assuring each is aligned with the Company’s resources and services reflective of QRC's vision, mission, purpose, and values.
Responsibilities: • Execute the company’s financial strategy.
• Assist the CEO in the development of financial plans.
• Develop plans for growth to increase the Company profit while also reducing expenditures.
• Managing accounting procedures.
• Oversee the Company’s fiscal reporting activities that include revenue, expense, and balance sheet reports, and the development of annual budgets.
• Accountable to the CEO to safeguard and strengthen the Company accounting; Oversight for accounting accuracy; Analyze issues to support of sound recommendations from a financial perspective to the CEO.
• Manage information technology services and the call center; Departmental oversight assuring consistent progression in meeting, fulfilling, and maintaining superior support with recognized successes.
• Ensure adequate cash flow necessary to meet the Company’s working capital needs.
• Ensure internal controls are in place and comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws.
• Establish and implement short- and long-term departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating accounting procedures.
• Provide the CEO, ownership, group and executive management with guidance and counsel regarding the financial implications of business activities and key decisions.
• Collaborate with department managers and corporate staff to develop five-year and ten-year business plans for the Company.
• Identify investment opportunities and manage mergers and acquisitions.
• Develop systems to monitor costs and perform financial and management analysis to optimize decision-making.
• Manage and perform pricing and cost analysis to identify profit improvement opportunities.
• Monitor industry news and trends to aid in identifying strategic responses • Develop and maintain relationships with key vendors and customers, including negotiations for pricing and contract decisions.
• Manage the Company’s capital investment annual and long-term plans.
• Maintain appropriate insurance coverage for the Company.
• Serve as primary legislative liaison relative to the Company’s financial and economic issues.
Responsibilities: • Direct financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements to include consultation with the Company’s independent certified public accountant (CPA) firm.
• Collaborate in training, coaching, and mentoring the Company leaders.
Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance with an MBA and/or CPA (highly preferred) and 10+ years of experience demonstrating progressive responsibility in leadership roles managing financial accuracy and strategic planning.
• Demonstrated success in setting, exceeding, and sustaining financial goals and strategic objectives.
• High-level business expertise with demonstrated success in managing revenues, costs, and expenses.
• Ability to think strategically, anticipate future economic trends and incorporate them into the Company plans and strategic objectives.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally within all levels of the Company.
• Ability to delegate responsibility and develop leadership skills in team members.
• Possesses a collaborative and customer-service focused work style.
• Willingness to effectively and ethically lead a team that produces positive outcomes in support of the Company objectives.
Physical Requirements: • Regularly spends long hours sitting, using office equipment and computers (50% of the time).
• Mobility required to attend weekly meetings throughout the organization.
• Occasionally lift 5-10 pounds.
• Good visual perception.
Position Specific Standards: • Maintain confidentiality of business issues and concerns.
• Continue professional development in accordance with state CPA and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) licensing standards.
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends.
