JOB DESCRIPTION
Facilities Manager
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Facilities Manager is responsible for maintaining and overseeing our campus facilities, and grounds
to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment for our ministries.
The duties include negotiating
contracts with services providers, inspecting facilities to meet safety regulations, making repairs, and
coordinating maintenance.
This is a full-time, exempt position that reports directly to the Director of
Support Services/Controller.
This position is eligible for benefits.
The duties and responsibilities of this position require approximately 40-45 hours per week.
The hours
must be flexible to meet the needs and demands of the position.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Facilities Maintenance & Housekeeping
• Manage Facilities Staff (2 people)
• Security
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensures all facilities are clean and maintained according to organizational policy and procedures.
• Oversees and supervises the quality of work for other employees to ensure that all tasks are
performed correctly, efficiently, and effectively.
• Oversee bid process as outlined in our procurement policy for major purchases within functional
responsibilities - i.
e.
capital and maintenance.
• Manages and reviews facilities and security service contracts and licenses.
Ensure vendors are
following through on agreements.
• Conducts and documents routine facilities inspection.
• Schedules routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors, facilities committee
members, and volunteers as appropriate.
• Verify all work completed by vendors and contractors.
• Forecasts, allocates and supervises the financial and physical resources of facilities management
and updates the maintenance reserve documentation.
• Assists in the development of the annual operations budget and capital budget.
Responsible for
delivering results within defined budget.
• Communicates workplace safety and security precautions to employees.
• Ensures proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system
vendors and security professionals.
• Ensures weather, security and emergency preparedness procedures are in implemented properly.
• Maintain personnel files, updated job descriptions, and hires, trains, and conducts performance
reviews for all direct reports.
• Serve as liaison to the Facilities Committee and facilitate those meeting.
Assists in the training
and the orientation for new volunteers within functional areas.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers, residents, employees,
community organizations, and the public.
• Attend and represent Rowan Helping Ministries at community meetings and workshops.
• Local travel.
• Perform other related work duties as may be assigned by the Director of Support
Service/Controller and/or Executive Director.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Should be able to stoop, lift up to 40 lbs.
and consistently maneuver within both inside and outside
environments.
This position works where needed on campus and should be mobile to access various
environments.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must be at least 21 years old; possess a four-year college degree in management or comparable
experience in the field.
Must possess vehicle and valid North Carolina driver’s license.
Skills required to be successful in this position:
Technical: strong project management, problem-solving, general construction, maintenance, and
computer literacy including Microsoft Office products.
Soft Skills: decision making, customer services, negotiating, leadership, and professionalism.
Must be compassionate and able to work with diverse people, establish rapport with staff, vendors,
volunteers, clients, and guests.
Must be detailed oriented, organized, and a system thinker.
Works as part
