SALARY GRADE: Flat Rated
***This position is time-limited, grant funded, full-time.
Funding for this position will end on May 31, 2024.
*** The Forsyth County DRIVE program provides an avenue through which Forsyth County residents burdened by economic hardship may engage with the court system to have their driver's license restored.
The Program Director will oversee the coordination and administration of all aspects of Forsyth County Drive Program, including planning, organizing, staffing, and community engagement.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Implement the stated mission and plan the delivery of the overall program based on the original grant.
Develop new community-based initiates to support the strategic direction of the DRIVE program.
Develop and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the program.
Develop a program evaluation framework to assess the strengths of the program and to identify areas for improvement.
Ensure that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization.
Utilize forms and maintain record keeping documenting program activities.
In consultation with the Elected District Attorney or designee, recruit, interview and select well-qualified program staff.
Report evaluation findings to the Elected District Attorney or Designee, recommend changes to enhance the program, as appropriate.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies Knowledge of: court system and procedures; legal terminology; and community resources to refer victims and witnesses.
Skill in: Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; accurately typing 35-40 wpm; and answering a multi-line telephone system.
Ability to: interview to elicit information from victims and witnesses to assure appropriate services; coordinate and schedule the daily operations of the victim and witness program; manage the court appearances of victims and witnesses to ensure their presence in the courtroom when needed; communicate orally and in writing with persons of diverse backgrounds; establish and maintain effective working relationships with law enforcement officers, officials of related agencies and the general public; and calmly handle stressful situations; work independently; handle a large amount of public interaction; and accurately type legal forms and documents.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Graduation from high school or high school equivalency certificate and two (2) years of legal secretarial experience.
Management prefers candidates with a BA/BS degree and background in court proceedings or case management.
Management also prefers candidates who reside in Forsyth County and have a Spanish language fluency.
