General Statement of Duties
The Airport provides an effective base of operations for corporate aircraft, air charter services, general aviation, and air cargo.
Smith Reynolds Airport's facilities are ideally suited for aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) operations and a variety of aviation-related industrial and commercial development.
The Airport is owned and operated by Forsyth County and ten full-time employees are responsible for the daily operation of the Airport.
The Facilities Supervisor supervises two Maintenance Technicians that perform skilled maintenance, repairs, adjustments, and minor construction and electrical work to ensure that airport facilities are properly maintained, and airport standards are met.
In addition, the Facilities Supervisor assists management in budget development, planning, contract procurement, project management, and occasionally assists the technicians in completing complicated tasks.
This role participates in planning required maintenance work, project tasks, coordinating, investigating, and resolving unusual situations as the needs arise, including urgent issues that must be handled in an expedited timeframe seven days a week
Distinguishing Features
Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
ensuring the safe and proper operation of various facilities at the airport
performing technical and general maintenance repairs on a variety of facilities and building systems, and support equipment.
performs corrective and preventive maintenance as scheduled;
evaluates and logs problems with equipment and recommends repairs and modification to airport assets.
responds to emergency situations both during and after normal business hours.
utilizes manual, automatic and computerized controls to bring equipment into prescribed operating ranges.
assists in the performance of functional and operational tests to evaluate equipment and systems capability and reliability.
performs water and air quality checks as required.
assist Airfield Maintenance as required with such duties as snow removal, mowing and runway maintenance.
Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Education and Experience
Graduation from high school or GED and five years relevant experience or completion of technical school or trade certification in a building or grounds maintenance trade and three years' experience.
One or more years of supervisory experience is required.
Must have a valid N.
C.
driver's license, CDL preferred.
A higher education level may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience requirement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
On call weekends and holidays for urgent and unexpected issues.
Ability to lift or carry up to 100 pounds.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to work in extreme conditions including cold, heat, rain and areas with fumes.
Ability to hear and speak clearly, including while utilizing telecommunication devices such as radios, cell phones and intercoms.
Ability to use a computer proficiently to prepare budget or contract documents.
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced office environment while meeting time requirements in the production of work
Ability to wear protective equipment including gloves, goggles, hearing protection, respirators, and safety shoes.
Effective detail orientation and visual evaluation ability.
